Nestled between the Big Blue River and the Little Blue River of southern Nebraska is the home of Blue River Bikes. We are Greg and Caroline Epp, owners of Blue River Bikes and we are biking enthusiasts. We took our first bicycle trip when Caroline was 5 months pregnant with our first child, Alexis. We bicycled from Denver, CO, to Giltner, NE, approximately 400 miles. This trip took us 8 days to complete, at an average of 50 miles per day. Alexis must have been pretty tired also, because she quit kicking during the trip. Caroline was a real trooper. Amazingly enough, Caroline's love of biking began on this trip.
Today we have seven children, and biking is still part of our lives. Our favorite trail is the Katy Trail in Missouri. The Katy Trail is part of the Missouri State Parks System. The Katy Trail stretches over 200 miles across the greater part of the State of Missouri. The Katy Trail is an abandoned railway which has been converted into a bicycle path. Recently, all nine of us cycled the complete length of the trail. Family memories don't get any better than this.
Physical fitness is important to us. We live in a world where TV's are used as babysitters and kids grow obese from inactivity. If we help you promote a love for physical activity then we have accomplished one of our missions.
The beautiful outdoors is where we hope you choose to spend your free time. It is our aim to choose unique items for sale that will enhance your love of the outdoors and physical fitness. We hope your experience at Blue River Bikes is a pleasant one. Take your time and enjoy your stay. You are family here.
